Pilates Haus

The Idea

Pilates is rooted in a balance of femininity and strength. For Pilates Haus, I wanted the visual direction to hold that same duality; soft without feeling delicate, strong without feeling rigid. Most studio photography picks one or the other: clinical equipment shots, or soft-focus wellness imagery that could belong to any brand in the category.

The Work

This one started with me. I found the studio, built the concept and shot list, and pitched it — creative direction, lead photography and editing, end to end.

The space did a lot of the work. Neutral tones, natural light, details that already carried a sense of calm and strength without trying. So rather than styling over the environment, I shot into it. Movement, texture, negative space, and the quieter moments between reps became the visual language.

The bigger decision was scope. They came in thinking about a shoot; I built a library. A campaign set gets used for a launch and then it's finished. A versatile collection of images runs across the website, the social feed, future launches, and whatever comes next year; same shoot day, much longer life.

The Result

They've been running the images as their social assets since, and the shoot gave them a consistent visual language to build the rest of the brand on. That was the point of shooting a library instead of a campaign — the brand looks like itself everywhere it shows up, and they're not starting from scratch every time they need something.
