Mintier
The Idea
Eye tape is sold on the before and the after. The lift, the opened eye, the smoothed lid — the whole category runs on showing you what your face looks like corrected, and trusting that the comparison does the selling.
We started somewhere else, with one question: what if expression was the beauty standard?
Every frame was built around the moments our faces remember. Laughter, tears, long nights, and everything in between. Not to erase them, but to honour them. Eye Dream isn't about looking younger. It's about feeling like yourself.
The Work
Mintier came to us wanting a commercial launch — not a product demo, something that carried the feeling of the brand.
That's a harder brief than it sounds. This product has an easy ad built into it; before, after, done. A feeling has no demo. It has to be recognized, which means the audience needs to find something of themselves in the frame before they find the product in it.
So we built the film around faces and let the product arrive second. If the campaign was going to argue that expression is the beauty standard, then expression had to carry the piece — the crease of a real laugh, tired eyes at the end of a long night, the small involuntary things a face does when it isn't performing. Eye Dream shows up as the thing supporting that face, not the thing correcting it.
The film was built around members of Mintier's own community, people who already use and support the brand, rather than booked talent. That choice holds the whole thing up. A campaign arguing that expression is the beauty standard can't be carried by people performing expression on cue. Casting from the community meant the faces in the film had a real relationship to the product, and the messaging came from inside the brand instead of being pointed at it.
The Result
It became the most shared and most commented video on Mintier's page.
Shares are the number that matters here. People don't forward a product ad — they forward something that describes an experience they've already had. The campaign asked whether expression could be the beauty standard, and the audience answered by sending it to each other.
